Today we arrived a town on the southern cost of England called Torquay. Torquay is also known as the English riviera. It became a popular resort in the 1800s. A lot of tourist visit this town, especially in the summer. There are opportunities for surfing, swimming, sailing, angling and to enjoy the stunning nature. Torquay is also the birthplace of the crime writer Agatha Christie.
We had some problem finding our hotel last night, but it turned out fine. Today the weather was excellent and perfect for sightseeing around in the beautiful town. We decided to visit the National Marine Aquarium first. After that we felt like some water action and decided to take surf lessons! This was an amazing experience that we will remember for a long time! We have both agreed to try surfing one more time.
Here is a picture of us when we are surfing!
Later in the evening we went to a restaurant where we met teenagers from the EF-Village. We talked about our trip through the English speaking world, and they were very curious about or home country Norway. The EF-Village is the village where the teenagers live when they are in Torquay for their language travel. We have both considered language travel before, but it hasn't worked out. Maybe we will come back someday, to learn even more English!
Here is a picture of the EF-Village teenagers and us!
If you want to know where we are tomorrow, you have to follow us. So stay tuned!
Annette & Sofie.
