London!

Hello, dear readers!
We arrived to the first city of our trip this afternoon, which is the beautiful capital of England and of Great Britain - London!
7,6 million people live in London, and the official language is English. Here there are many famous places to visit, like:

  • Big Ben
  • Buckingham Palace (where Queen Elizabeth II lives)
  • the Tower of London
  • the London Eye
  • Madame Tussauds

The Tower of London was built around year 1100 by William the conqueror. It was a prison for the political enemies of the king. The prisoners were tortured and killed there. Today they keep the Crown Jewels here.
Big Ben is a big clock which was built in 1856.
London Eye is a big wheel where you can enjoy the view over London. It opened in year 2000.
Madame Tussauds is a museum with wax figures of celebrities.

The River Thames runs through the city of London. This town is very big, and there are so many historical attractions to visit, so you have to be here more than one day to see it all. We are just spending one day in London, so today we went visiting some of these amazing attractions!

We visited London Eye and Madame Tussauds. We did also see the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, but we didn't look inside, because we had to go shopping! We spent a lot of time in the gigantic shopping street Oxford street.

When we ate food at restaurants and traveled with a taxi to the different attractions, we discovered that the inhabitants of London were very polite. Their language and what they said was polite, and everyone we met seemed nice.

We hope we can go back to London some time! We totally loved London! But next time, we want to spend more time here. One day is just not enough for this wonderful city.

Follow us to the next city in England! Where we are going, you have to find out tomorrow!

Hugs and kisses,
Annette & Sofie.
